Purpose: This document shows how to dispense and replenish medication with large pack sizes.
Medication is dispensed in Outpatient application and replenishment is done in Supply Chain application.
Scenario:
A restock bin contains a 50x30 tab SKU with a quantity of 2. In Outpatient, one 30-tab packet is dispensed from that bin. After this, replenishment is performed again on the same bin. Upon completing the restock replenishment, what is the remaining balance in the bin?
Answer:
2x(50x30 tab SKU) + 49 x (30 tab SKU)
Follow the steps to accomplish this:
Prescribe Meds (Outpatient application)
Log in to Outpatient.
On the patient file, click 'Meds' tab.
Click 'Prescription'.
Add the prescription details and save.
Dispense Meds (Outpatient application)
Select the medication to be dispensed and click 'Dispense'.
Click 'Repackage' to dispense in base size.
Click 'OK'.
Select the base size and dispense medication.
Stock Replenishment (Supply Chain application)
Log in to the Supply Chain application
On the home screen click 'Restock'.
Click the plus '+' icon on the top right corner of the screen to add new restock event.
Select the 'Replenishment Bin' as the restock event type.
Select the restock bin.
Before initiating stock order, recon bin count. This process is the same as doing a bin count.
Click 'Item count'. This enables you to count items in a bin.
Enter counted quantities then navigate back.
Click ‘Photos’ to attach images of the counted items.
Submit bin count.
Click 'Initiate Stock Order'.
This will need any of the senior med team member to approve the stock order.
Fulfillment and Delivery (Supply Chain application)
Bin Balance (Supply Chain application)
On the home screen, click the hamburger menu.
Click 'Bin Balance'.
Search for the bin and click to check balance.
