Purpose: Position groups are the headings within assignments that help to group/categorize positions.
Scenario: You have a group of positions that are assigned or stationed at Outpatient, these positions are all related by the fact that they all are stationed at outpatient and thus you as the scheduler want to group them together so that when you are creating Assignments the Groups can be seen easily.

Follow these steps to create a shift position group:
After logging into the Shifts Application on the top navigation bar go to Other > Settings.
Click on Shifts Position Group.
Click on the 'New Position Group' button on the right side of your screen.
On the form that will appear on your right, enter the Position Group Name, Department and Appearance (The order in which it should appear in when in the Assignments screen, 1 being the first group at the top).
Click on the Save button at the bottom of the form.
Look for the Position Group you have just created and click on the pencil icon on the far right of the Position Group.
A new field labeled Add Shift Position will be found now at the bottom of the form as the last field, click on it to select the shift positions that fall under that groups. Use the search field to find the position you are looking for quickly.
Click on the Save button at the bottom if the form to save you Shift Position Group.
