Purpose: A Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) provides detailed, step-by-step instructions on how to perform specific tasks within an organization. It ensures that tasks are performed the same way every time, which helps maintain quality and uniformity in operations. It also streamlines processes by providing clear guidelines, reducing the time and effort needed to complete tasks.
Scenario: You want to create an SOP on how to install the Bratt Pan industrial cooker.
Follow the steps on how to create an SOP:
Log in to the Luvelo Tasks application.
Click on 'Task Lists' on the menu bar on the bottom of the screen.
Search for the Task List that has SOPs for your department. For example 'SOP - Asset Electrical'. If you can not find the SOP task list or it does not exist, ask your DA to add it for you. Click here to see how to create an SOP tasklist.
After locating the task list, click 'New Task'.
Enter the name of the SOP.
Now you need to enter all the SOP details. All required sections will be indicated by a red star. Once completed, they will be indicated by a green check.
Purpose - Entails the purpose of the SOP.
Key Terms - Classifies specific terms and jargon used within the SOP.
Summary - Gives a brief description of the SOP.
Detailed Instruction - Clearly explains all the steps of the SOP in detail.
Comments - Contains any comments related to the SOP.
Attachments - Contains any supporting files like pdfs, photos and videos.
Revisions - Shows the date, time and how often the SOP was updated.
Owner & Acknowledgement - Shows the owner, acknowledgment frequency, groups to follow the SOP, employees to follow the SOP, and skillsets.

Click on the 'Owner and acknowledgement group' section, shown after the Revisions section, in order to add the SOP owner, users to follow the SOP and set the acknowledgement frequency.
Click the back button to save the Acknowledgement Group details.
Publish the SOP in order for other team members to start reading and acknowledge it.
Once the SOP has been published, the owner has to approve it in order for other users to read and acknowledge.
