Patient L&D (Labor & Delivery)

Purpose: Patient labor and delivery records are captured in order to come up with best delivery method.

Scenario: In the case you are administering a pregnant lady who is in labor and has hypertension, there are high chances of experiencing complications during delivery and might lose the mother or the child. Medical officers have to make a careful decision in order to save both the child and the mother.

L&d - Labor and delivery

ANC - Antinatal care

Obsterics - the care given during childbirth and the mother giving birth

Comorbidities - patient medical condition.

Follow the steps:

  1. After you login in EHR, perform a full sync.

  2. After completing the sync, click on 'All Admissions'.

  3. You can use the search bar to search for the preferred patient or scroll down till you find the name. After you found the patient click on the name to see all information concerning that patient.

  4. Click on 'L&D'.

    The records that will show on ANC are the antenatal care records of that particular patient that are pulled form Outpatient application.

  5. Click on 'Ultrasound' to view the ultrasound orders that were administered before. Click here to see how to order for ultrasound.

  6. Click on 'Obstetrics History' to see the whether there are any risk indicators to be considered.

  7. To edit the obstetrics history click on the pencil icon. Save once you are done entering data.

  8. To edit comorbidities click on the pencil icon. Save once you are done editing.

  9. Refer to the Risk Indicators shown below, which shows you the next step based on the current records.

  10. Click on Pregnancies to add information pertaining any previous pregnancies. Enter all the information and save.

  11. Click on 'Delivery' to add information on delivery and save.
