Add Lab Results

This article shows you how to add results in Lab application

Purpose: After lab samples have been drawn and collected from patients, they are sent to the lab where tests are conducted and results are produced. Once the results are released, they need to be added to the patient file.

Follow the steps to add lab results to:

  1. Log in Outpatient application.

  2. On the home screen click 'Pending Lab Receipts'. Here you will see all orders that have been created.

  3. Click on the patient file.

  4. Here you will see all orders that have been drawn.
    If the lab sample is being tested at an external facility other than local lab, select the lab provider and save. If the tests are being done at local lab, leave the lab provider option blank and continue.

  5. Click 'Send Lab Samples'. If the test is being done at local lab, an LIMS number will be generated and the order sent to pre-link for some tests.

  6. Once lab results are out, click 'Pending Lab Results' tab on the home screen.

  7. Select the lab order for which you want to enter results.

  8. Enter the results, attach the file of the results and click save.
    If the tests were done by an external lab provider, you can manually add them to the patient file. These results take 2 weeks to be released. If they were tested in the LIMS, they will be automatically added to the patient file in Outpatient once the user signs out from the LIMS. These results take approximately 5 minutes to be available.

  9. You will see a notification that your results have been successfully saved.
