Outpatient Support Document

Purpose: This document provides guidance on how to use Outpatient. This application is designed to maintain and update outpatient patient files, record the services accessed by the patient, manage prescriptions and schedule any future appointments. The outpatient application has be designed to streamline the process of managing outpatient care with data privacy as the core idea in mind.

Getting Started

Logging in:

Patient File Management

Updating Patient file:

  1. Click on the Sync icon button located at the top right corner of the screen to perform a sync of the latest data in the application.

  2. Click on the Visits tile or the the visits in the the top navigation bar

  3. Click on the Patient name you are looking for( hint: HealthCare Worker patient files will appear as HCW and the service they are accessing will not show, for privacy )

  4. Click on the Profile tab

  5. On this screen you can update the patient information (hint: use the pencil icon to update the information)

  6. To update any other patient file information seek the appropriate tab and edit the information.

Service Administration

Render a service:

  1. On the Services space click on the appropriate service that you are about to render to the Patient.

  2. Enter the correct information required when rendering that service and when every part is completed click on the Submit for Review button located at the top right corner of the screen.

Adding a new service:

  1. Click on the plus icon button on the Service space in the overview page if the patient.

  2. Go through the list of available services in the system and click on the one that you want to add to the patient's visit file and click on the Save button.

Collecting Vitals:

  1. On the home screen of Outpatient click on the the Vitals Pending tile.

  2. Click on the Collect Vitals text button on the patient visit you want to collect the vitals for.

Prescription Management

Adding a New Prescription:

  1. Open the patient file for the patient you want to prescribe the prescription for.

  2. Click on Prescriptions.

  3. Click on the "+ Prescription" button located on the left of the screen.

  4. Enter the new prescription information in the appropriate fields and then click on the "Create Prescription" button to submit a new prescription.

Dispense Prescribed Medication:

  1. Open the patient file for the patient you want to dispense the prescribed medication for.

  2. Click on Prescriptions.

  3. From the list of Prescriptions that are found on the screen click on the Dispense on the far right of the medication.

  4. Select bin zone to dispense from and fill in the relevant information such as the medication quantity then click on the Dispense Medication button located at the bottom of the popup form.

Appointment Scheduling

Scheduling a New Appointment:

  1. Open the patient file for the patient you want to schedule the appointment for.

  2. Click on Appointments.

  3. Click on the "+ Appointment".

  4. Enter the appointment required details such as the date at which they need to come( hint: for 30 days from now use the preset date buttons on the form), click on the "Save" button at the bottom of the form when you have entered all the vital information.
