Purpose: To keep track of any medication the patient has been prescribed by the facility and make it easy to dispense.
Scenario: A patient suffering from a splitting headache needs some Panado for the headache, how do you prescribe this using Oupatient.
To prescribe any medication to a patient follow these steps:
Log in into Outpatient. Click here if you do not know how.
Open the patient file for the patient you want to prescribe the prescription for.
Click on Prescriptions.
Click on the "+ Prescription" button located on the left of the screen.
Enter the new prescription information in the appropriate fields and then click on the "Create Prescription" button to submit a new prescription.
#Package - is the number of pack sizes
Days Needed - is the days that are expected to take the medication
Amount - is the amount of medication needed to be taken in a day or every hour.
Route - is the way the medication will be consumed by the patient.
Frequency (Every X) - is number of times the patient will consume the medication. It can be in a day or in an hour.
Unit - is the the for the frequency, for example Every X Days or Every X Hours.
Notes - if there are any special notes that the patient should be observe when taking the medication they are supposed to be put in the Notes textbox.
