Purpose: To document what medication was given to the patient and what bin it was taken from
Scenario: A patient has been prescribed panado and are now waiting for their medication, how then are you going to dispense the prescribed medication.
To dispense medication from the Outpatient do the following:
Log in into Outpatient, click here if you do not know how to.
Open the patient file for the patient you want to dispense the prescribed medication for.
Click on Meds.
From the list of Prescriptions that are found on the screen click on the Dispense on the far right of the medication.
In the popup you can choose the bin zone, select Inpatient Bin Zone, and Select Another Medication to Dispense
Click on the checkbox to mark the quantity to dispense
The Prepare button allows you to prepare all your before dispensing. Once prepared, the meds will need to be delivered using the Deliver To Patient button after taking a photo under the "Dispense Photo" tab.
Dispense Medication allows you to dispense medication directly without preparing the meds
Once medication is marked Dispensed it has been dispatched from the system.
