Purpose:
To establish a standardized method for creating and managing transport routes for patients eligible for transport sponsorship. This ensures that each patient receives an accurate and fair calculation of transport funds based on their specific travel needs.
Key Terms:
Transport Leg- A transport leg refers to a specific segment of a journey within a transportation route. Each leg has its own origin, destination, and cost. For example, if a bus travels from Point A to Point D with stops at Points B and C, the journey can be divided into multiple legs.
Transport Route- A transport route is a planned path taken to move people from one location to another. It involves various legs, each with its own origin and destination.
There are 2 stages of creating routes. Firstly you configure the legs then secondly you configure routes.
Follow the steps:
Create Transport Legs
Log in Backoffice application.
On the menu, click 'Transport'.
On the dropdown menu, select 'Transport Leg'.
Click '+ Transport leg'.
Add the details and saves.
Origin - this is the starting point of the transport leg.
Destination - this is the ending point of the leg.
KM - number of kilometers between the starting and ending points of the leg.
Cost - the bus fare from origin to destination of the leg.
Create Transport Route
On the menu click Transport then Transport Route.
Click '+Transport Route'.
Add the Transport route details.
Origin - where the trip begins, after leaving the hospital.
Destination - final destination of the patient. (Home)

Click 'Add Transport Leg'.
Select the transport leg and sequence. You can add more legs that are between the origin and the destination of the route.
Save the details.
