GBV (Gender Based Violence) Service

This article shows how to provide the Gender Based Violence service in Outpatient application

Follow the step for documenting GBV service in Outpatient:

  1. Log in Outpatient.

  2. Search for the patient file. You can search for the patient file using any of the following methods:

    • Visits - This shows you a list of all visits for the day. If patients are not checked out in the system, the visit automatically gets checked out after 24 hours.

    • All Visits - Here you can search for patients using Phone number or Evax ID only. It shows you patient visit history.

    • Recent Activity - This shows you a list of files that you have recently opened and the time you accessed the file.

  3. Go to the visit screen and add the GBV service.

OVERVIEW TAB

  1. Report of Violence Section

    • Type - Enter the type of violence exposed to the patients

    • Date Violence - Enter the date when patient was exposed to violence.

    • STI Treatment Given - Select Yes if patient was given STI treatment. If not select No. This applies to patients who where sexually assaulted

    • Reason for no STI Treatment - If patient was sexually assaulted, enter reason of not getting STI treatment.

    • Initiated on PEP - Select Yes if patient was initiated on PEP. Else, select No.

    • Reason for no PEP - Enter reason why patient was not initiated on PEP.

  2. Police Report Section

    • Police Notified - Answer if police was notified or not.

    • Police Officer Name - Enter the name of the police officer who was notified about the incident.

    • Date reported - Enter the date the case was reported to the police.

    • Police Post Name - Enter the name of the police station/post where the case was reported.

    • Police Report Number

    • Enter the description of violence.

  3. Counseling Notes Section

    • Enter counseling notes given to the patient.

PHYSICAL ASSESSMENT

  1. Click on + Physical Assessment button to add any abnormalities you observe on the patient. Add a description of the abnormalities in the text box.


SEXUAL VIOLENCE EXAM

  1. Assessment Section

    • Patient mentally stable - assess patient to see if if they are mentally stable.

    • State of Breast - Assess if the breast are not injured.

    • Genital Injuries - Add if there injuries on the genitalia.

    • Is Hymen Intact? - If the patient was sexually assaulted, assess if the the hymen is still intact.

    • How many fingers can fit on vaginal examination? - During examination, inset your finger in the vagina and assess how many fingers can fit.

    • Is vaginal examination painful? - Ask patient if vaginal examination is painful than usual.

    • PV discharge or bleeding - Check if there is any vaginal discharge or blood.

    • Is uterus palpable? - Check if you can feel the uterus when you insert your finger.

    • Uterus weeks - Enter uterus weeks.

  2. Picture of Perineum Section

    • Enter the picture of the perineum.

SERVICE PROVIDER

  • Click "Select Service provider" link, followed by clicking by clicking "Set As Me" to show your name as the service provider.

SUBMIT REVIEW

  • Finally click the "Submit Review" button to send the service template for review.
