Purpose: To promote workplace safety and productivity, Luvelo Shifts includes a Fit for Duty Test feature that ensures employees are physically and mentally prepared to perform their assigned tasks before starting a shift.

This feature helps prevent workplace incidents, reduces fatigue-related risks, and maintains operational standards by requiring staff to complete a brief readiness check or self-assessment prior to clocking in.

Accessing the App

Application Role Required: Shift Configurations Admin

  1. Log in to Luvelo Shifts by visiting app.luvelo.org/shifts in your web browser.

Configuring Fit for Duty Tests

  1. Click on 'Other' and select 'Settings'. A new window will open.

  2. On the left menu bar, click "Fit For Duty".

Fit For Duty Test

A Fit for Duty Test in Luvelo Shifts refers to a specific assessment or screening configured to verify that an employee is physically and mentally capable of performing work safely and effectively before starting a shift.

To add fit for duty test follow these steps:

  1. Click on "Fit For Duty Tests"

  2. Click "New Fit For Duty test"

  3. Fill in the required fields and save.

    • Name: The name of the Fit for Duty test (e.g., Breathalyzer, Drug [Urine]).

    • Message (Displayed to User): A customizable message or note associated with the test. This may include test instructions or alert text shown to employees

    • Is Active: Indicates whether the test is currently active ✅ (usable in the system) or inactive ❌ (disabled and not enforced).

Fit For Duty Requirement

A Fit for Duty Requirement in Luvelo Shifts defines the specific conditions and tests employees must complete before being cleared to begin work. Each requirement ensures that team members are physically and mentally prepared to perform their duties safely and effectively.

To configure a new requirement follow these steps:

  1. Click on "Fit For Duty Test Requirement"

  2. Click on "New Requirement"

  3. Fill out the required fields and save

    • Fit For Duty test: The name of the Fit for Duty test being enforced (e.g., Breathalyzer). This identifies the specific test employees must complete.

    • Group: The department or user group the requirement applies to (e.g., Drivers). Different groups can have unique testing rules.

    • Sample Rate (percentage as decimal): The percentage of employees within the group who must undergo the test. For example, 100% means all employees are tested before duty.

    • Requires No Outstanding Forms: Indicates whether employees must have all pending or required forms completed before the test can be successful. If not toggled, it means this requirement is not enforced.

    • Enforcement Type: Defines how the system enforces compliance if the test is not passed or completed (e.g., Apply Default Timecode, applies a specific timecode such as “Not Fit For Duty” or Restrict Clock in).

    • Notify Slack Channel: Specifies a Slack channel (e.g., Drivers_Management) that receives automated notifications when test results or enforcement actions occur, helping supervisors respond quickly.
