Use Case

  • A facilities manager assigns team members daily to clean and maintain several working areas of a large shopping center. Each working area has critical requirements to ensure the right cleaning products are used and no focus areas are missed. To standardize expectations of all workers, standard operating procedures are created clearly defining the actions to be performed during a shift, and these are associated with skillsets so that employees automatically receive the relevant instructions on clock-in.

Overview

  • Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) help clarify expectations for team members and ensure consistency across operations, even when different individuals rotate through the same shift positions. By linking SOPs to specific skillsets—and by extension, to shift positions—you automate the communication of expectations that might otherwise be overlooked by managers. This not only streamlines training but also supports accountability and operational continuity.

Prerequisites

Steps to Associate Standard Operating Procedures with Skillsets:

  1. Log in Shifts application.

  2. Click on 'Skills'.

  3. Select the department that requires the particular skills and click on the Skillset to start editing.

  4. On SOP's, select all SOPs that need to be acknowledged by any user who has that particular skillset. Save any changes that are made.

This will allow users to receive notifications whenever they clock in for their shift.
